Inn at Perry Cabin

Inn at Perry Cabin

of

Orient-Express Hotels, Inc. commissioned Cooper Robertson to design an expansion to the historic Inn at Perry Cabin and develop a master plan for improvements to the 25-acre property situated on the banks of the Miles River. The expansion includes 39 new guest suites (supplementing the Inn’s original 41) as well as expanded conference, banquet and restaurant facilities.

The master plan accommodates a number of guest amenities and service facilities including a new outdoor pool and pool terrace, gardens, greenhouses, and separate spa and maintenance buildings. A new, tree-lined entry drive and other significant improvements to the landscape knit together various buildings. The design distributes new guest suites among three distinct, domestically-scaled buildings in character with the original Inn. Each of the new wings is organized about a single-loaded circulatory spine so that all of the guest suites are afforded a view of the Miles River; individual buildings are specifically sited in response to the natural shoreline to optimize those views.
