76 Seaport at Penn’s Landing

76 Seaport at Penn’s Landing

This ambitious proposal envisions a transformative mixed-use development in the heart of the Philadelphia’s emerging waterfront district. Anchored by a new arena for the Philadelphia 76ers, and with 4.2 million square feet of development including residential and commercial complexes as well as a wide variety of retail, dining, and entertainment amenities, the design creates a vibrant new waterfront destination for the city of Philadelphia. Centrally located, waterfront access is the forefront of the proposal, as exemplified by a continuous waterfront esplanade that runs the entire length of the development site. The proposed Park at Penn’s Landing, bridging the busy Interstate 95, as well as improvements to the multi-modal Delaware River Trail and a new South Street pedestrian bridge extension ensure that the development ties into the surrounding historic neighborhoods of Old City, Independence Mall and Society Hill.
