SUNY Stony Brook University Master Plan

SUNY Stony Brook University Master Plan

of

The State University of New York at Stony Brook has moved to the front ranks of American research institutions since its founding in 1957. To further this momentum, the State University Construction Fund retained Cooper Robertson to prepare a Facilities Master Plan to identify elements within the campus to strengthen and those that need to be realigned with the University’s mission.

The final plan considers projected growth and enrollment and includes recommendations for new academic and residential development, campus circulation and parking strategies, open space improvements, and social and recreational needs. An assessment of existing facilities during the analysis phase contributed to recommendations for demolition, renovation, and repurposing. The Plan will enable the Construction Fund to better allocate resources to address deficiencies and appropriately manage growth.
