| Conceived as a five-part Georgian-Palladian ‘country house,’ the Clubhouse is New Albany's social and recreational center. Built of Tidewater brick with limestone and wood trim and capped by roofs of slate and copper, the large building contains formal and informal dining areas, social rooms, locker rooms, and a pro shop, as well as banquet facilities on two floors. Curving arcade wings screen out parking lots on either side of the building and embrace the lawn as it leads out to a 27-hole golf course designed by Jack Nicklaus. |
