Cooper, Robertson was asked to design a visitor center that would be in keeping with the scale and atmosphere of the botanical garden and create a sense of invitation and anticipation as visitors move through the center into the garden. Retail, dining, exhibition, and lecture spaces are located within a modestly scaled building consistent with the natural order of the formal garden.
