• Ethical Culture Fieldston School Master Plan

    Riverdale, New York

    After a lengthy selection process in 2003, Cooper, Robertson was chosen to program, plan, and design new academic and athletic facilities for the School's lush Riverdale campus. After comprehensive examination and analysis of the campus, the firm proposed a master plan to accommodate several new buddings within the limited land area. Among the key features of the plan were to make the new Middle School a "bridge" linking the upper and lower schools, clearly define the entrance quadrangle, and create pedestrian connections between the lower, middle, and upper school buildings. Integral to the entire plan was a commitment to "green" sustainable practices. From green roofs to porous paving in parking lots, waterless urinals and rainwater collection for irrigation, the "Greening of the Fieldston Campus" was a top priority with a successful outcome.
