Sustainable PRACTICES

Cooper, Robertson employed sustainable design practices in architecture and led the way in low-carbon, transit-oriented, pedestrian-friendly community planning decades before the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification system was established. The new LEED ND (Neighborhood Development) rating enumerates practices Cooper, Robertson pioneered in the 1980s with projects such as the Master Plan for Battery Park City in New York.
