• Duke University North Hospital Entry

    With the opening of a new Children’s Hospital adjacent to the main hospital, Duke Medicine decided to build a new common entry to present a unified image and to clarify visitor and patient arrival. They asked Cooper, Robertson to design it. The entry sits at the end of the new Fulton Street ramp from the expressway and is visible from a long distance, both day and night. The entry serves staff pick-up and drop-off as well as patient valet parking. Duke Medicine wanted a calming presence for all who use the hospital. The gentle curve of the steel structure and the supersized graphics contribute to the welcoming experience.
