This new museum of art, history, and science will serve as an educational and cultural resource for the central South Carolina region. After decades operating in a converted house, the institution will finally have a purpose-built facility with galleries for changing exhibitions and permanent exhibits as well as spaces for education programming, collection storage, and support. The new building sits on an important gateway site between the historic downtown core and Florence’s cultural corridor that includes a new performing arts center and library nearby. The renderings show the approved design.
