• Lincoln Center Master Plan

    New York, New York

Cooper, Robertson began work in 2000 on the master plan for the redevelopment of this 16-acre performing arts center. With six buildings, 15 performance spaces, and a total seating capacity of 15,000, nearly five million people visit Lincoln Center annually. The goal of the master plan was to refurbish and renew both the buildings and open spaces in order to bring this world-class performing arts center into the 21-century, acknowledging that much has changed in the way music, dance, theatre, and opera are performed and taught in the 50 years since it originally opened. The project also sought to strengthen the connections to the surrounding neighborhood which has also undergone significant change in that time.
