    Casa de Campo, Dominican Republic

Built of local coral stone and mahogany, this coastal villa was largely undamaged in the last big hurricane. The entry hall, eight bedrooms, dining room, and kitchen, are arranged in an arcaded crescent radiating around a freestanding portico great room set among palms and gardens in order to distance the sleeping areas from the main social gathering place. Each bedroom also opens onto a protected courtyard, thus providing complete privacy and retreat for all staying at the villa.
