The design encompasses pastures, gardens, a guest lodge, a greenhouse, and barns housing exotic animals and birds as well as offices and vehicles. Set in the trees on a steep rock slope, the stone and timber guest lodge is both luxurious and rustic, drawing on the great Adirondack camps of the 19th century. In addition to a high balconied living room, the three-story house has five bedrooms, a kitchen, dining, screening, and exercise rooms. The terraces have panoramic views of the estate and Croton Reservoir beyond.
