    Prototype Houses

    Sao Paulo, Brazil

Cooper, Robertson designed six prototype houses for Boa Vista, a community outside of Sao Paulo. The living spaces are organized around central courtyards to allow maximum exposure to the outdoors for natural breezes to circulate. Deep verandas emphasize the play of light and shadow between indoor and outdoor spaces. The muted stucco walls, with tier light-colored stone trims and warm wooden interiors blend a traditional English cottage with a tropical South American villa. Stately, solid facades are in contrast to the open-air feel one has indoors. Two facade options are provided for each house to allow for flexibility and variety within the community.
