This mixed-use building, with residential units above ground-floor retail space, is known as The Barn because it incorporates striking modern interpretations of traditional barn features such as over-scaled rooftop ventilators, simple corrugated-metal roofs, roof-overhang brackets with exposed wood-to-steel joints, a silo-like enclosed stairway, and sliding barn-doors at street level. With its shaded porches and large windows, residents enjoy both the breeze from and view of the sea here in WindMark Beach's town center, also designed by Cooper, Robertson.
