• CUNY Graduate Center Apartments

    Manhattan, New York, New York

The eight-story Graduate Center Apartments complex adjacent to CRP's new Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College in East Harlem offers attractive and affordable housing to CUNY graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty members. The new 78 unit residence consists of studio, one-, two- , three- and four- bedroom apartments. Faculty apartments feature terraces overlooking the School of Social Work's landscaped courtyard. Building amenities for residents to enjoy include a landscaped rooftop terrace, ground floor lounge, gym and laundry room. The patterning of score lines and tones on the precast façade of the building were designed to refine the scale of the building as well as to complement the modern aesthetic of the School of Social Work and to sit comfortably among the low and mid-rise buildings of the surrounding neighborhood. The LEED-certified project opened in August 2011.
