    Collections Storage Master Plan

    New York, New York

Cooper, Robertson developed a 20-year Master Plan for the Met's Collections Storage to enable the Museum to accurately determine the space needed for each department to safely and efficiently store its current holdings, as well as accommodate future growth. The focus was on more efficient use of existing storage spaces, removing collections from unsuitable spaces, and establishing a new shared off-site storage facility. Efficiency and safety of art handling, mechanical and fire protection systems, building envelope and room finish materials were all evaluated to see where improvements could be made.
