In 1910, the University of Texas was given a 346-acre tract of land along Lady Bird Lake in Austin to enhance and augment its educational mission. Held in reserve until just recently, the land was used minimally by the University for student housing, a field research center, a golf course, and as open space.
Cooper, Robertson was hired to study development alternatives for this large parcel to determine specifically how it might help the University meet its long-term needs for future academic growth as well as revenue generation possibilities. The resulting framework plan balances community interests with the University's long-term goals and visions.
