The redevelopment of Harbor Point will reconnect the City of Stamford, situated on Long Island Sound and along the Mill River, to its waterfront. The 82-acre site of vacant and underutilized land is within a 10- to 20-minute walk of the Stamford Transportation Center with Amtrak and Metro North service to New Haven and New York. Several distinct neighborhoods will be created as a part of the new development, each complemented by an open space feature. Approximately 4,000 residential units are proposed for the overall site. At Harbor Point Square, part of the first phase of development, 200 residential units, an office building, and a boutique hotel are currently under construction. Retail, restaurants, and waterfront promenades in Phase One will help establish the character and amenities for the new neighborhood as well as for the subsequent phases.
