A large program of rooms was carefully distributed across a central two-story body and two flanking single-story wings in order to retain a domestic scale to the house and to preserve and optimize the extraordinary features of its site: a lake to the east, open views of fields to the southwest, and large, mature deciduous trees in all directions.
