Set in low grasslands overlooking a creek, this country villa is both cozy and formal, big and small, European and American all at the same time. Organized on a long axis, which runs from the pool pavilion at one end to a garage and staff apartment at the other, the central space is a 25-foot high living room with fireplaces at each end, which is topped by a lantern and opens into a winter garden.
